Adidas Makes Waves

3-Stripes Anyone?

With Adidas and the Yeezy Boost collection at the very peak of fashion buzz, my fingers are itching to add some more 3-stripes to my closet. I’ve always had my eye on the classic shell toe since my first Adidas purchase back in high school and the new Yeezys are reminding me of that “gotta have it” feeling. With Adidas adding major celebrities and influencers of all types to their collaboration roster, I have a serious inkling that they will continue to push the bar for the brand in style and innovation. For me, I still gravitate towards the OG’s like the classic Shell Toe and Gazelle, but with artist like Pharrell, Kanye West, and Raf Simons continuously rethinking these classics and constructing new and fresh versions of their own, I am opening my mind to so much more.

I’m sure you know very well that 2some is definitely a Nike Brand supporter but we don’t shy away from expanding our wardrobe with a little heat if Adidas has something to bring to the table. I’ve collected a few drops that have graced the market over the years, mixed with some new and current releases. These creative colorways, innovative materials, and classic styles will serve as inspiration for a custom ID design of my own that is available on their online store, Adidas.com. I’m excited to see this brand at the peak of interest in fashion and street culture once again and have high hopes for the brands future.

Walking On Air

Nike Air Huarache and Tinker Hatfield.

I have fallin’ deeply in love with a shoe and now I know this isn’t a mistake. If you’re a real “Sneakerhead” you know that you cannot control what shoe that you fall in love with. Over the years Nike has put out tons of different shoe designs that are thoughtfully put together by their creative teams. Like every successful business there is an individual that leads a creative powerhouse that is un-paralleled by the competition, for Nike this is a man known as Tinker Hatfield. This man is credited for decades of Nike and Jordan Brand shoe development and without most us knowing he has played a pivotal role in deciding which new sneaker will join our closet full of collected gems. The Nike Air Huarache is a shoe that I have been drooling over but haven’t purchased until recently and it comes at no surprise that it is the brainchild of Hatfield and the introduction of ideas that have been skillfully applied to other shoe designs to follow.

Some of the most iconic sneakers that have had a love spell over me that Hatfield has designed include: Air Max 90, Air Huarache Low, Air Jordan 12, Air Jordan 4, Air Jordan 5, and Air Jordan 11. See Below...

As soon as I slipped my feet into these in these shoes in the store I knew this was a love that could last a lifetime. It was a complex and structural shoe that included interesting materials used in inventive ways. I love the lack of swoosh presence, rubber accents on the upper, and the comfortable fit of the neoprene bootie. I’ll find any excuse to wear these babies, mark my words. If you’re interested in some of the history behind Tinker Hatfield, Nike, Air Jordan, and the Huarache that I haven't already covered, I have included some of my favorite articles.
